Director of IT Operations

Job description

The Director of Operations is a key member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Director of Operations oversees and secures the company’s ongoing operations and procedures within the following departments: IT Backoffice (IT helpdesk), Facility Operations, IT Audit&GDPR, Procurement Operations and Office Management. He/she supports the CEO by ensuring high-productive, day-today management of the owned departments.

 

What you will really be doing

  • Coordinate and report the activities of the overseen departments
  • Participate in planning of the operational budgets, keep regular control on it
  • Motivate and unite department leaders to encourage maximum performance, collaboration and dedication
  • Hold regular meetings and verbal/written report-out sessions with department leaders, provide up-to-date information on all ongoing issues to CEO
  • Monitor resource and personnel allocation to ensure departments are efficient and appropriately resourced
  • Own and coordinate the steering committee meetings
  • Execute company strategy and related priorities on operational level and provide continuous control and feedback to CEO on execution
  • Establish, maintain and improve corporate policies and procedures related to the overseen departments
  • Promote company culture and vision internally
  • Lead and participate in facility/purchase related negotiations and contract closures
  • Any other relevant tasks assigned by the CEO

Requirements

Expectations

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in COO or similar role preferably in multinational environment
  • Competency and strong experience in people management on senior level
  • Solid understanding of GDPR
  • Experience in procurement/office&facility management/IT Helpdesk operations is an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Pro-active, think-out-of-the-box mindset
  • Can handle multiple priorities while paying attention to details
  • Advanced analytical and risk-evaluation skills
  • English: excellent written and verbal skills, French/German is an advantage
