Director of Operations

Job description

The Director of Operations is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Director of Operations oversees the company’s ongoing operations and procedures, and he/she is responsible for the efficient organization set-up on operational level. The Director of Operations secures the functionality and stability of the business by leading multiple operational teams.

 

What you will really be doing


  • Translates the company’s vision and strategy on operations level, creates and maintains an efficient organizational model
  • Plans and owns the operational budget Motivates and coaches department leaders to encourage maximum performance and dedication
  • Designs and implements business operations, ensures effectiveness, validates and implements business strategies
  • Oversees the daily operations of the company and supervises the work of the department leaders by regular meetings and reports, has up-to-date information on ongoing issues
  • Monitors resource and personnel allocation to ensure departments are efficient and appropriately resourced
  • Troubleshoots and strategizes pro-actively to address departmental and organization challenges
  • Sets up the steering committee on operational level, and is responsible to ensure communication via regular (bi-monthly) meetings
  • Executes company strategy and related priorities on weekly/monthly/yearly level and provides continuous control and feedback to CEO on execution
  • Establishes, maintains and improves corporate policies and procedures
  • Promotes company culture and vision internally Leads and participates in facility/purchase related negotiations and contract closures
  • Supports the CEO to ensure high-productive, day-to-day management of the organization
  • Creates weekly reports for the CEO Any other tasks assigned by the CEO

Requirements

Expectations

  • Proven experience (10+ yrs) in similar role preferably in multinational environment
  • Competency and strong experience in people management on senior level
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills Pro-active, think-out-of-the-box mindset
  • Can handle multiple priorities while paying attention to details
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and exemplify leadership and composure under pressure, while maintaining high morale Advanced analytical and risk-evaluation skills
  • Can do ability, decision-maker and problem-solver
  • Makes and communicates hard decisions 
  • English: excellent written and verbal skills, any other European language is an advantage
