The Software Patent Architect (patent engineer) is responsible for understanding invention disclosures in their technical area, constructing and conducting search strategies, and completing search reports.
While not a lawyer, the ideal Software Patent Architect still possesses a keen understanding of the patent application process and is capable of providing administrative and engineering support to work through the patent application process as efficiently as possible.
This employee has the necessary technical understanding of invention disclosure, and is able to identify where patentable developments are feasible.
As a Software Patent Architect, you will be responsible for patenting Docler's software-related, innovative solutions.
With us, you will…
Working closely with product development teams
Reviewing business and technical specifications
Reviewing system level software designs (architectural, infrastructural, workflow diagrams)
Identifying unique solutions (structures, processes) eligible for patenting
Creating patent specifications (architecture, flow-charts, description of routines, sub-routines)
Writing patent applications
Following development and patenting lifecycles, workflows, and processes
Providing support related to patenting and possible litigations
Complying with technical standards, conventions, policies, and procedures
Any other tasks assigned by the direct line manager or management
What we expect from you…
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
7+ years programming experience
Experience with patent specifications, and the patent application/litigation process
